‘Panda mom – Panda baby’ for piano beginners by Piano Comics for training a harmonical ear
‘Panda mom – Panda baby’ for piano beginners by Piano Comics , free download at the end of this post
A 6 year old beginner brought his favourite plushie to our lesson: a panda bear holding its baby. So we created this song. I taught him only the 2nd voice and combined it with body movement (one step for each bar). When he learned it well and could sing it by himself in sol-fa I started adding the 1st voice/melody quietly so that not to disturb him and derail his voice. When I saw he was holding his ground I started singing normally. And that’s how you start to train even kids to hear vertically, harmonically and not just sing with a clean pitch any tonality. Lyrics:
‘Come here close, don’t be shy. Open arms real wide. Give a hug and smile ‘.
