‘I forgot my scores Miss’ a 2 voice solfeggio song by Boris Ibrishimov
In this video I explain how you can teach and introduce singing 2 voices during music theory classes. This short and easy song is a great opportunity to train your piano and music theory students for singing and listening polyphonically. It only uses 4 consecutive keys, not too high or low and the 2nd voice sings the same key like a basso ostinato. We co-created the lyrics with my students which are based on the excuses I hear as a teacher for why they don’t study or don’t bring their scores to the lesson .
Just ask the student that’s going to sing the 2nd voice – basso ostinato – to close their ears if they have to but ALWAYS sing that one key no matter what. Or use it as a competitive trick ‘ The other player will try and derail you from your one-key song. Don’t let them! ‘
